Key Stage Four in Durham School for Girls
In Key Stage 4, the girls move onto their IGCSE courses. Girls will work with their teachers and Parents in Year 9 to develop their individual program for their IGCSE qualifications. It is the aim in Durham School for Girls, that we give the pupils a range and depth of experiences and opportunities to prepare them for their future.
Girls will also continue to take Physical Education, PSHE and Islamic as support subjects in Key Stage 4. This will give the girls the balance and enrichment needed.
In Year 10, the girls will take between 5 and 10 IGCSE exams. There are obligatory subjects and then girls may choose from the range of options available. All these choices are carefully chosen with both parents, pupils and school. Guidance and careers advice is ensured throughout these choices.
